I like my coffee black, just like my anxiety
If you’re one of those people who never second-guess themselves, then that's a superpower.
Not MY superpower, mind you, but…ahem…good for you ;-)
I LOVE to chase down different ideas and projects. You can’t build buildings without that kind of dog-chase-car energy. But the more things you take on, the more likely you are to wake up at three in the morning with night sweats, worrying about whether your newest project is going to fly.
I’ll tell you this.
The multifamily masterclass I’ve just finished is my greatest accomplishment of the past year.
It’s also been the most anxiety-inducing pain in the ass as well.
At the end of one particular shoot, I’d had it.
I’d spilled coffee on various parts of the set, including a ten thousand dollar couch (don’t ask. I didn’t know the price!). I was flubbing my lines. Looking off camera. I was pretty sure the production assistant was posting shitty pictures of my screw-ups on TikTok.
It was exhausting.
It definitely wasn’t dignified.
And honestly, it chipped away just a tiny, TINY bit at my self-esteem.
One of my buildings had won a big award a few weeks earlier, and here I was, uncomfortable, tired, and more than a little unsure.
And it was only the sixth video.
There were forty more to go.
#$#$#@.
I went outside with my half-spilled Americano and checked messages, looking for a distraction. As I often do, I was answering DM’s from another aspiring developer about their project, my thumbs furiously banging against the screen. I like helping. I like the community. I like TO BE USEFUL.
But dammit, even this wasn’t making me feel better.
It usually did.
But I also had that grinding feeling at the back of my head that this particular DM was going to require more than a quick text. More than a phone call even. This dude needed some hand-holding. And…
I. was. Crunched. For. Time.
My creative partner slid the door open to the balcony and politely informed me that we had to get on with it. There was a lot left to shoot for the day.
I waived him off, still texting.
“Dude. Sean.”
I looked up.
“THIS,” he said, pointing back to the set, “is BETTER than THAT.”
And by that, he meant the furious stream of texts I was shooting off paled in comparison to the teaching I could do, the help I could provide if I just sucked it up and got on with it.
(Okay. I didn’t get it JUST then. I think I actually said “What?”)
But I got it later that day.
It dawned on me that I was spending too much time working hard and not smart. So I pulled up my big-boy pants, forgot about my ego, and powered through the course. I created a learning experience that isn’t a quick text on the fly but a comprehensive, detailed master class in all things multifamily. It will teach you how to plan and develop a building while avoiding the costly and time-consuming mistakes I’ve made.
I don’t mind telling you, it’s a kick-ass course.
It’s the course I wish I had when I started out.
And I’m going to tell you something else.
Look.
I’m not the best at “selling” things.
There’s a reason why developers have lease-up teams to lease out their apartments!
But, this is my baby, so I’m telling you about it. It’s a masterclass in multifamily development. Forty-six lessons in everything from asset management to raising equity to understanding a pro forma. There will be class discussions and 1-1 mentorship opportunities. I’m going to so over-deliver on this course that The Bright Build will become known as the educational launch pad for aspiring developers.
I know. Big promise. But I put in big work.
Okay, so last thing.
Follow this link to learn more about the class. If you want to chase your developer dream, put your name on the launch day list. Do you have to pay to get on the list? Nope. But that is the list I’ll email on launch day. It guarantees your spot while the course is open AND a $500 discount off the larger course offering if you enroll on launch day.
Also, there are only 250 seats. And my plan, at the moment, is to offer this course only once a year.
Get on the list.
